Long-Term Running Goals: I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.
Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:) Personal:

| A painful stomach ache had me playing merry-go-round at the gym on each machine to find any sense of comfort level while exercising. Alas, I settled on the stationary bike where I was able to fit in a sweet ~5 miles in 30 minutes.

| I love exciting things – like balloons, kittens, and ligers. Oh, and let me add to the list unintentional circus acts on a treadmill. I need to send a Christmas card to the person who decided to make gym treadmills automatically shut off at 60 minutes. Thank you for the exhilarating reminder during today's speed session. You clearly had a vision that most runners would be brain-dead and tired at this point, and you found a passive way to prod us off that treadmill. I get why you do that, and I applaud your effort! Treadmill- 1, Tara-0. Well played:)
No harm done, but if you're going to fall, keep it classy like this guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpeSH6ngsgl

| 3.5 miles of high intesity climbing on the TM for just under an hour. I'm trying to reinvest in my relationship with the TM again while my throat is irritated. The cold is just mean to it!

| Yikes, I was off my game today. Long run up to the Twin Peaks and BST with Craig, Scott and Zac. I was holding everyone up, for the most part. I couldnt catch my breath. Came home and felt like I raced a half marathon. I began speed work again this past week, and have ran 3 sessions in the past 7 days, so it made sense I was dead. We all take our turns being tired on these runs, mine was today. Dang.
I tested out my new Terramar baselayers today. The refversable tights are a dream and fit well. The Wool fullzip was warm. I layered a bit too much with my PI insuated top, but it evened out. Very comfortable and something I would wear everyday, too.

| BST in Draper with Scott and Craig. 4th mile was a bit of a push uphill then I felt great rest of the run. We ran into a group midway and chatted for a second. So fun to know people on the trail. Good weather lately, too.

| Twin peaks from the hairpin with Craig and Scott. Met up with Jenna's larger group a mile into the run at the I street trail head. I was the first to the peaks and opted to turn around and get back home. Would have been fun to chat, but had to get the kids off to school. Maybe 10 people today + a dog. Amazing sunrise canopy over the city lights on the way back. Felt great this morning and even got a couple of fast last miles in to snag a course record I've had my eye on. Kudos to me.
Afterwards, went to the gym for 60 mins of core, arms, buttocks, and stability exercises on the ball. I'm going to be sore.

I ran this race 2 years ago while training for SGM and was in better 5k shape. Today I ran just 20 seconds slower but felt better. I'm pretty pleased since I've put in little speed work to prepare. Just wanted to fit something in before taking a small break in January before hitting it hard for Boston.
This was a fun race and a good value. Just $20 gets you into the race with free kid entry's and Santa hats. I picked a Star Wars hat for my son who will love it.
Jogged a loop of the course and did a few strides for 2 miles total then ran what I could. As soon as I noticed I was first by quite a ways, I let up on the hills and cruised in. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, although I gave about a 90% effort. I knew I couldn't talk myself into much more without someone pushing me. Happy with the splits. Never really focused on spits, just planned 6:30 pace. Tougher course with lots of short hills everywhere, both up and down.
1st female, 2nd overall by 33 seconds. Came home with gift cards.
