Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Santa Dask 5k Hosted by the Dodo Resturant at Sugarhouse park.

I ran this race 2 years ago while training for SGM and was in better 5k shape. Today I ran just 20 seconds slower but felt better. I'm pretty pleased since I've put in little speed work to prepare. Just wanted to fit something in before taking a small break in January before hitting it hard for Boston.

This was a fun race and a good value. Just $20 gets you into the race with free kid entry's and Santa hats. I picked a Star Wars hat for my son who will love it.

Jogged a loop of the course and did a few strides for 2 miles total then ran what I could. As soon as I noticed I was first by quite a ways, I let up on the hills and cruised in. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, although I gave about a 90% effort. I knew I couldn't talk myself into much more without someone pushing me. Happy with the splits. Never really focused on spits, just planned 6:30 pace. Tougher course with lots of short hills everywhere, both up and down.

1st female, 2nd overall by 33 seconds. Came home with gift cards.
