Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Okay, this run will go down in history as the coldest and scariest. Ever.

Met up with Kenzie, Matt and Scott for a Red Baldy summit. Scott knew the way, except it was dark. Matt knew the way, except he trusted Scott. So off into the dark and frigid temps we went. Everyone was turned around up there and it was hard to find a good trail. We ended up taking a detour and each of us somehow got separated through the large boulder field. I ended up at some drop off, climbing up to the top and praying the entire way. My shoes were crap and my faith was too. Saying prayers along the way and searching for other head lamps for some direction, I ended up going back down and taking another route. I finally found Kenzie who seconds later slipped. If it weren't for her ninja grip, she would have fallen off a 500 feet drop off. A bit shaken and a blood blister on her thumb from her tight grip was the only things she walked off with.

The wind was so strong and cold, it was ridiculous. We didn't care, we got to bench and all huddled and shivered. At some point I dropped my water bottle, but I didn't care, I was over it! Originally it was supposed to only take 2.5 hours, but ended up being around 4 hours, so we eventually had to turn around and missed the summit by about 10 mins. The descent was even worse. We followed the men off the side and were slipping and sliding everywhere. My teeth were rattling so bad, I couldn't even talk!

Scott felt super bad about the whole thing, and Matt says he was never scared or cold. Haha. Kenzie about died and I vowed to get a piggy back next time.

The end.
