Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

6:00am- We have skipped the last two weeks due to conflicting logistics with our children, so it was nice to get out and run with Andy on Legacy Parkway Trail this morning. It sure helps the time go by running with someone else. 7:24ap on way back, 7:44 ap total.

I'm also happy that yesterday's niggles have calmed down--must have been the shoes.

7:00AM- 14.5 miles with Kam and Andy down Main to the Forza complex and back. After dropping Andy off, Kam I found ourselves on a dirt road that lead to no where. We decided to cut through a field and make our way back to the trail. Lots of bushwhacking and swamp trudging. The temps have been so mild for this time of year, I definitely could've worn shorts today.

This week, I made a more concerted effort to train on the roads. For the past few months, the majority of my miles have been on the trails. I have enjoyed exploring the trails around and have found an appreciation for the trail and ultra world. I used to always feel like I was cross training on those days, but the line has become more blurred as my experience has evolved. I can contribute this to the great people and mentors I have met in the trail community. I'm still not convinced that I will ever be a competitive trail runner, but I've learned so much and it has really helped me with my mentality with hills. If anything, I'm no longer sore after trail runs, I've adapted! Which brings me to the point of this  post-- I can't believe how beat up my body feels, returning back to the roads! It turns out I need to adapt again and become a hybrid, hopefully:) I'm just so grateful I can run and feel connected to such an amazing community of athletes,  both on the trails and on the road.  Boston training is almost here!
