Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Great race today. Warmed up with Julie C and Christi from the blog. It was good to meet Julie for the first time. She is full of energy (as you can tell from her blog). Loved it!

Felt good this morning, but knew the speed was certainly not going to be where I wanted it today, but felt good overall for the race.

Planned on being anywhere from 6:05-6:20 pace depending on how I felt today, ended up averaging 6:15. Splits were 6:08, 6:15, 6:20, 6:04ish...didn't stop the watch quite on time, but makes sense for the overall time.Plan was to take it easy the first two miles then push the last two. The third mile seemed slight uphill, last mile seemed slight down for part of it. I tried to hold back and not burn out early. I felt good the entire race and didn't feel like I could have pushed harder, but didn't feel burned out either.Really tried to push that last mile and felt good coming in. Placed 5th overall. Turkeys were given to top five and pretty much everyone else it seemed;) Nice run. Cooled down with Christi and Devra, the winner. Turns out she won St George a few years ago and ran a 2:34 or something like that. Christi and I also ran part of our cool down with Melody (runningwithbabies) from the blog...so fast and so cool too! Love the FRB family:) Stiff competition today, more than years past. Almost talked myself out of running this race about a million times this week, but so glad I did it! Happy Thanksgiving!

Do you know what I like about you? You go out there and race your guts out.

Tara it was so nice to meet you! I wish I had seen you and Christi earlier so we could have chatted longer. I'm sure we'll run into eachother again in the future and next time I'll recognize you. Nice job picking it up at the end! You have an awesome kick. It must come from your days as a 400M runner.

I'm glad you did, too. You would have been kicking yourself. Free turkey!

Man, any race in Utah County has stiff competition! I never venture that way! Nice job hangin' right there with them. great job.

Burt- Thanks, that made my day:)

Melody-I looked at your races and you are fast. I don't think I want to run another 5kish race with you anytime soon. Speedy legs! Oh, and I didn't run the 400M really, I was more of a distance runner:) Very nice race day for you for sure!

Kam- That is what got me out the door, the dreaded regret:)

Kellie- I know, I was thinking the other day about how I rarely win races, and none this year....then I realized my races were all in Utah County this year. I need a confidence boost outside that area for the next bit if possible:) Fast, fast ladies!
