Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

I've taken a break lately. Work, holidays, cortisone shot and strep throat have had my focus elsewhere. It seems taking a week off really reset my system and I feel really good. Just need the motivation. I suppose that will come after the new year. I have deliberately not signed up for any races, or made a schedule because I really like not thinking about it. Still not sure what I will end up doing. There is something sort of alluring about taking on an easy year with only 1-2 races in sight and just having fun running. The only problem is that usually doesn't propel me to get out of bed in the mornings. This will pass, it's the cold.

5:30AM- Thank goodness for Scott W.'s encouragement as of late. He invited me out to run with his crew this morning to Ave Twin Peaks. I knew I needed to get out, but it was so cold!! It wasn't too bad once we got on the trail, but the first few minutes were frigid. I dressed very methodically to cover my bases but was missing was two key items- a head lamp and trail shoes. I borrowed some spikes that worked out great and leached light off of the others. The view was fantastic, and his buddies, Matt and Zac were great company. I was worried I'd be beat due to a very easy month, but I felt great. What a fun morning!
