Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Today I went to the gym for some cross training. I ran 1 mile for a warmup then did 35 minutes on the elliptical. Afterwards I did 2x4 mins of row, "Allie's 10 minutes of planks" with alternating sides, and rolled my muscles out. Boring workout day.

Are you kidding? That was fascinating!

If you really want to enjoy your planks, you have to think of yourself as a piece of lumber. Imagine what type you are, think about your grain, your knots, and the people you may impale with slivers. Then planks become a fascinating pursuit.

Sometimes you have to go against the grain.

lol. You guys. No, the planks were anything but boring. They were painful. Painful like a thorn in my side! My entry on the event however, was less than exciting. I just don't have the Burt flare to make planks sound fun to describe. Maybe if there was a motorcycle guy doing them with me, or a cougar, or some magic water fountain to watch.... that would be exciting. Instead, I basically cried through the whole thing and kept telling myself, my FRB friend's better appreciate this!:)

And thanks Kam for the comment, I was starting to think you thought you were too good...and I would have to agree.

I assure you, Tara, me thinking I'm too good is something that never occurs. I often think I'm too busy, however.
