Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Ran early this morning and did 2 miles at race pace. Felt fast and scared me but oh well, I know it always feels like that. Trying to figure out a race strategy...do I start off slower, same pace or go out fast like I always do and burn up at the end but still have a good time, but not a good time doing it?.Open to your tips and what works for you.TOU is a challenge for me to figure out due to the downhill in the beginning but not the end. Hummm,.....

Not sure if you have seen this, but Fiddy posted it on someone else's blog and might be helpful for figuring out pacing. http://marathongis.com/demos/paceChart.pdf

yes, that is paul petersen's magic chart. it's very, very helpful. you want to run this course at an even effort -- that means the first half will be faster, but don't go too crazy because you want to have some life left in your legs for that last 10k. i would try to positive split by about 2 minutes. the chart says it all.

That is a great reference, THANK YOU!! Sounds like a plan!

We need to find another friend or two and drag each other along to a 3:07 finish.

I have NO ADVICE a I am the stupidest (is that word??) runner on the planet. I always go out too fast, ALWAYS. And I think that could be very dangerous on the TOU course!!

Sounds like you have been told what to do from the pros, listen to them! GOOD LUCK! I can not wait to read all about it!!!
