If you want to race fast, you have to train fast, so I was told. But a total BLAH fest transitioning marathon training to 5k. Today was the first 5k speed workout. Decided to start a little more conservative since I didn't know how running under 6:00 would feel. I put on the Kinvara's and did 6x400's and 1x800 with equal rest. Paces were 5:21, 5:21, then 5:18 for the rest, including the 800. The 400's weren't too bad at all, but the last 800 was not fun. After that I did 3x4:00 minute intervals on the row. Then core and stretching. |
