I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

I am married to a supportive and driven husband. Together we enjoy geocaching, hiking, camping, reading and playing games with our three rambunctious children.

Aside from running, I am a homemaker and a Mental Health Therapist. Running has given me the ability to better concert my energies between my family, faith and friends.

I entered a contest of sorts for a free 6 week training program at FireHouse Fitness. I know several people who train there and have had amazing results. It appears to be similar to Cross Fit, but with more cardio. I've wanted to train there for some time, but could never commit to the monthly price tag. The commitment requirements are:  5lb loss or gain of muscle, attendance 3x week, follow an individualized nutrition program, display their sticker on my car and 3 measurement checks. Last night was orientation. The facility looks hardcore. There are giant tires everywhere. My friend Jasmine is one of the trainers and she pulls cars for fun.  The timing seems perfect!

a few months ago i saw a woman pushing a car in liberty park. i went up next to her and said: "hey do you need help?" while simultaneously starting to push the car. she snapped at me and said: "no. this is my workout. please move." i was very embarrassed...too embarrassed to blog about it until now. i climbed a tree and cried for six hours. i'm over it now.
