Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

I can't believe it's been one week since SGM. For lack of better words, it's been a rough week in recovery. My legs have been the least of my concerns. This bug I have, is mean. The cold-turned-flu-sinus infection-turned-stomach flu might be a new strain. I expect my face in the news, next to a bird and a swine- warning of a new outbreak. Isn't that dramatic? Yes, it is. I'm at about 65% today. That's 15% away from being half dead, so that's an improvement.

I've thought a lot about the race. A little fire has started under me to comeback to SGM in 2014 and improve on my performance.

I'm also registered to run a half in a few weeks. I can't decide if I want to end the season or finish off with that race....Time will tell if my body is able to move again by then, at least the way I need it to.

I'm looking forward to a winter of easy runs (Tempo Tuesdays maybe?) and more lifting.

Fun Tara will be back soon.

i'm sorry, tara. i'm glad to hear you are 15% better than half dead, and i hope the remaining 35% comes back soon (i had james verify all of that math).

i hope the eye crust/ponk jokes didn't go too far -- i really am sorry you've been so sick this week. feel better soon.

then...party.

The ponk eye remarks were the highlight of the week, honestly.

In person, I'm not so fun. In the cyber world? I'm a complete party.

I can vouch for that.

ick ... 65% is also 15% better than half-alive - sounds like good progress to me!

Get better Kara xoxo

Fun Tara should come run some trails :)

Yes, go back to SGM next year. I had the exact same feeling after Wasatch. I need to get back there and do what I know I am capable of.

Hope you get back to 100% soon.

Don't sweat it, next year is a new year. Dial it down for now, dial it up in Spring :)
