Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

5:45AM- I had fun run this morning with Scott up City Creek. We had good conversations and even saw some wild turkeys. It turns out Scott is a great turkey caller. Take him hunting! Plus, he hooked me up with some Altra trail shoes!

Sounds exciting! Are you pacing Scott at all for the Antelope Island 100? I'm going to be pacing a friend of mine from 70-90 I believe.

Rachelle- Who are you pacing? I'll look for ya out there. Unfortunately Tara won't be pacing me, but I have a fun section of Wasatch 100 for her. :)

From now on I will refer to you as TR (Turkey whisperer).

TR? DUH!!! TW

Haha.

Hi Rachelle! Yeah, Scott's right, can't make it to buffalo, but the Wasatch 100? Oh yes! Have you paced before for something like this?

Scott- haha I never even noticed! Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

Scott - I am pacing my friend Janice. It is her first 100 miler. She has done the 50 twice and is making the big leap to the 100 this year.

Tara - No I've never paced for an ultra and I'd be lying if I didn't admit I'm scared to death.

Nows the time where you both give me all of your best advice... :):)

Rachelle- Go watch the video I just posted on Facebook. Haha.

Advice- That section can be rough. It will be dark, cold and your runner will be very tired. She will most likely have some lows. Be really positive and don't entertain any talk about quitting. She can get over anything as long as she is not injured. Make sure she stays on top of her energy and electrolyte replacement. Know when the aid stops are coming up and ask her what she needs. Make sure to get her in and out quickly, but make sure she gets what she needs. It is easy to linger at aid stops and a first timer is likely to linger more. Get her moving again quickly. You will have a blast!

Thanks Scott! I'm planning to get there by 8pm so hopefully I will see you there.

From Tara on Fri, Mar 07, 2014 at 10:43:30 from 75.169.143.81

Rachelle- I've never paced either, so what Scott said! As a matter fact, I just took a bunch of notes. No quitting, in and out, electrolytes.. Got it! I'm scared too:) Scott loves having scared pacers, I know it.
