Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Gosh, I have really slacked this week. I've been busy with other things, good things. I let this happen since I'm not training for anything right now, except for a thanksgiving race that I am doing just for fun.

Today I ran a mile and then didn't want to anymore so I didn't. I did 6 more miles of cross training doing spin, elliptical, and  then joined the last 45 minutes of a body combat class. I'm not a "class" person, but the instructor saw me looking in and pulled me in. I think she felt bad for me and thought I was intimidated to come in. Really I was looking in at them while I was totally thinking of something non related. Then when she ran out and invited me I  gracefully declined her invitation. I think that made her feel more sorry for me and  insisted that I come in. So not really sure what the class was about, since I couldn't recall what they were doing, I went in and threw a few mediocre kicks and uppercuts. I tried to look cool and coordinated, but once again I knew I was cool  just not coordinated:) The best part was the sounds the instructor made and the sounds the usuals made back. "RAW! (raw), YAH (yah), He YA! (he ya)" and the best, "UH UH YA! (uh uh ya)". I loved how involved everyone was. It reminded me of how runners will talk to each other and encourage each other during fartlek and indian ladder workouts. Maybe that is their language. HE YA RAW YAH UH UH YA!

You just offended me.

Don't generalize about runners.

:P

Burt, somehow you just offended me too. Don't generalize and personalize my entry again. Wait a second, do you do classes? Or maybe you teach them? Well.

Actually I'm an Indian with flatulence.

Burt, Tara, if you continue with this behavior, I'm going to put you in time-out.

Tara started it!

I am not a CLASS person either Tara, but I am totally feeling great taking on Cycling classes this past week. Muscle mix/aerobics got me in positions that worried I might hurt my running legs in-- not sure I will go back to that one. I was NOT coordinated following her in front of me. I needed her to turn around and face ahead so I could get the moves down. so not a dancer/cheerleader. SO good work feeling guilted into CLASS ACTION!!

Burt- thanks for keeping it clean.

Kam- I have no doubt you would do that, you have experience. I don't want you to ignore my blog either. That would make me... mad! I guess:)

JulieC-you know what I'm talking about. TURN AROUND!

I sometimes look into these classes, and then when they notice me I run and hide on a corner treadmill somewhere.
