Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Easy run through neighboring streets. I expected to be a little tired from yesterday, but felt no different. Good.

I'm debating on running Des News Half or Timp Half. Any thoughts on which one you would do?

Do des news then you can come drag my butt in:)

I think they are pretty comparable. I'm looking at those as well, just not sure! I like you're new hair :)

hi tara. i agree with josse - run des news and then bring your skateboard back up the course to pick us up.

i responded on the discussion forum -- i originally thought timp would be the faster course, but it turns out des news is actually the winner between the two. i think both are great options, though.

both courses are on public view on the course tool page.

I can't see any reason why you would choose Timp over Des News (and I love Timp). It's closer to home. The course has a longer, more steady downhill. Timp has a few steeper downill miles but make up for it with more flat miles (the last 5k of Timp opposed to only 1 mile at Des News). Des News has decent prize money and you can run with Allie and Josse. The only drawbacks are that it is in the middle of the week and is being put on by a new race director (that may not be a bad thing).

These are all good points. But I fail to see what that has to do with the price of Chopsticks in China. Just sayin'...

I would do which ever one of those marathons is the shorter distance.

Burt, chuckling out loud.

I'm doing the des news half. Come do that too:)

The new race director is Denny Thorne who does the run13 events. I think he does a good job, so that (hopefully) wont be an issue.

Josse- I love that you were voted to get a free entry, made me smile:) I might be able to help if you bomb at the end (which I hope does not happen). In that case, I can keep up with you:)

Carina- Des News is calling my name!

Allie- Thanks for leaving your comments on the forum. VERY helpful. Thanks for doing the homework I should have done, first. I like you a lot.

Andy- You are right on. Essentially, you laid out all of the pros. I like them.

Kam- Your feed back is somewhat... well...not as helpful. Step it up next time. Have fun at Ragnar, too:)

Burt- Your advice is worse than Kam's. Nontheless, I appreciate you stopping by.

Angie- YES!!!
