Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Run for your lives 3k-ish in NSL. I came to support a friend of mine who put on the race. The course runs along BST, gradually climbing the first half, then a hairpin turn back down to the finish. The trail was narrow and rocky with uneven footing. I need to run trails more often.

The race started and from the beginning I knew I was in trouble with my choice of wardrobe. My skirt did everything it could do to fall off, so I held it in place and used my other arm to drive me up the the trail. I bought it the night before STG and almost wore it for the marathon. Ah! So I tore out my hair tie and secured the skirt. That meant my hair was all over the place. Next thing I know, the band comes undone, and I'm back with a loose skirt and untamed hair! Thank goodness for a short race!

Early on I could see no one was going to come out with me (most people did it with their families.) It gave me a good chance to relax the pace into a tempo effort. Things started to get interesting at the turn around. I headed back on the same narrow trail I had run out on, but now against all the other runners and walkers. I jumped on and off the trail into the weeds for about a half of a mile, but the Go2's survived.

I must have looked hardcore coming into the finish with my hair all over the place.... except one guy came in wearing pair of jeans...

I walked off with a hand full of candy, personally delivered from a boy scout, 2 tickets to Nightmare on 13th, a fun T-shirt, and a photo shoot with the Mayor in a Sylvester costume. Best $10 I've spent today.

I tried to open all the links at one and my computer crashed.

Nice race!

Crashing parties is fun, crashing computer's, not so much. I promise I didn't embed a virus for fun. Or did I?;)

That's okay, "hardcore" and "splits" are the best, IMO.

You kill me tara. Lol! Thank goodness u didn't wear your skirt to St George! You really were hard core at St George! Bloody knee and everything! Any races coming up? Do Boston with me in 2015.

From Tara on Sun, Oct 20, 2013 at 18:34:31 from 75.169.137.75

Christi- Boston 2015 is ONNNN!

As far as races coming up, I have a half in a couple of weeks in Idaho, then I'll hang up my racing shoes for the year. Next year I'm thinking of several half's in the spring (Striders, SLC, and UV), then TOU full, and or ST. George. How about you?

That picture of you shooting out of the gate cracks me up.

Burt- Me too, actually. Lol! I really never looked around at the audience. I placed first among a bunch of families on a nice morning stroll.

Yes you did! Man, stop making me laugh. My belly is actually jiggling. Now shut up! I'm trying to write my race report.
