Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Small race. Looked to be roughly 70 people, but at the start there looked to only be 20:) I went out with 3 HS boys. Passed all but one in the first mile. Lots of turns through neighborhoods. Gradual uphill first mile. Ran circles in a park for second mile. The wind picked up but seemed to blow sideways despite the direction we ran. Stayed within a stride of first place. Last mile was subtle downhill for first part then subtle uphill to finish. The wind was much stronger in the last mile in a very chilly headwind. Attempted to pass him with a couple surges, but he wouldn't allow it. We ran side by side for last mile then sprinted to finish. He edged me by under a second. Ran back to get my husband and kids. No awards, but plenty of drawings. We walked off with gift certificates and a gift basket. There was a fun band there too. Steel Horse or something like that. I guess they are traveling and open up for Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Fun low key race tune up for next week!

2.9 miles. Ha! When you say you went out with 3 high school boys, do you mean you dated them?

Nice job Tara. Now you get to run 45 seconds per mile slower than that on Sat. :-)

You are ready!
