Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Fun race put on by Allie and James. It was fun to see other bloggers too!

Today I was hoping for sub 6:15 pace but would have liked to be around 6:00, if I could. Although my time was fine-ish, the effort was harder than I would have liked. Dang it. I was super tired after 800m. My body felt like a Zombie from waking up till now. I took a caffeine pill to help, it just made me hyperverbal and annoying. Oh well.

There looked to be around 30 people total, but not all running the 5k. Most were running a relay. I was either last or first, not sure. I think only one other girl was running the full 5k. I ran alone and focused on how tired I was rather than how well I was doing:)  I need to run more 5k's to toughen up! My times were the opposite of negative splits-  6:06,6:15,6:20, 5:52 (.15). Talented, huh?:)

Afterwards I went on a nostalgic jaunt around Sugarhouse park, running the state high school XC course. Ah, the memories. I even finished on the track.

I came home to a bleeding toddler. My husband was rough housing with the kids and Landon hit his head on the fireplace. Luckily, Steve had Lidocaine and sutures on hand so we were able to bypass the dreaded Instacare. Every kid needs their head stitched up at least once.

Busy day, we are heading out to visit family for the weekend! Don't rob us, our poodle-of-sorts dog will be here.

Hope everyone has a good weekend full or racing and running!

So good to see you today! Nice running... Hope to run with you in the next couple months!

you most definitely won. i feel bad that we didn't do anything for the winners of this race...something to revise next year.

that was an impressive run -- not easy running it like that on the track, especially in the heat. you looked really good. i was especially impressed when you emerged from the bushes on your nostalgic run. i'm glad you got to run the course -- i have some great memories there as well.

thanks for coming today. it's always a good time when you are around. and of course your shoes were bedazzling.

james says hiyahhhh.

Great 5k on what I hear is a tough course!

Hahahahhaha:) April, the course was actually on the just around the track, not at sugarhouse park. I keep laughing! Your comment did make happy:)

well in that case no excuses haha! ;) I suppose I could have looked at the picture and when you used the term "800 meters" figured it out!!

I hope you take your coffee decaf.

Great job Tara! I think that running a 5k on the track is incredibly difficult and I'm sure it was hard to focus and stay motivated with most people running relay style. I probably would have quit after 400...

Hey, I think I saw you at the park, I thought it was you, but didn't want to make a fool of myself. I was wearing a very bright pink tank top and flower shorts :) Great job!!

Bonnie- Hi:) love those shoes. Mom even approves! You heard it, mom.

Burt- I go straight to the hard stuff! Concentrate in its purest form, caffeine pills! Aka drugs

http://youtu.be/bflYjF90t7c

Rachelle- You are sweet. I keep trying to find a reason for this, but it comes down to the cold hard truth. This was no tempo, this was a result of an all out performance. And that's where I'm at right now. Oh shoot! Hahah!

Carina- Were you running with another girl when I passed you? I think I said something like "speedy job ladies," or something like that? It really is strange to see people in person and try match them with their pics on the blog, isn't it?
