Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

"Hey! Janene! Hiii!!"

She turns and looks at me and keeps walking.

I run faster to catch up to her.

I catch her by grabbing her shelbow and force her to turn and face me.

"Janene! Hi!"

She gives me a started and awkward smile.

I'm still convinced it's her.

"Hiiiiii."

We just smile at each other, but it gets even more awkward so I release my grip.

"You're Janene, right?"

Nope.

"Oh, well I'm Tara and you look like my friend Janene. Bye!"

She jogs off, even though I originally saw her walking. It was clear she wanted distance. I almost followed her to apologize, but it was one of those moments where you needed to just walk away and remind yourself, not to touch people without asking. Another thing learned in MANT training yesterday. "Can I touch you?" I'm pretty sure I'll never ask anyone that.

AM: 3 miles, hip exercises, and core work

PM: Human foosball with the youth tonight. I'm pretty sure that just means soccer.

You are the biggest dork I've never met.

From Tara on Wed, Jan 15, 2014 at 10:54:18 from 75.169.143.115

You've never met me.

From Burt on Wed, Jan 15, 2014 at 11:03:20 from 71.216.109.214

Thanks for repeating me. It flatters me.

From Rob on Wed, Jan 15, 2014 at 11:20:13 from 63.235.131.194

She'd probably try and touch you if you ever met.

Hi Burt, I'm Tara! Can I touch you?

From Scott Wesemann on Wed, Jan 15, 2014 at 14:09:39 from 66.232.64.4

Haha. It is actually called futsal. I could go on about how it is different from soccer blah blah blah, but that would be BORING (yes I'm yelling). :) I coach soccer and futsal and since it is winter we are playing futsal. It is much faster, requires more skill and hurts a heck of a lot more when you fall. On our next run I'll tell you all about it after we smell your pits.

No, I bet it's really human foosball. They get long PVC pipe that everyone holds on to in a straight line and you can only move back and forth and kick the ball.

back in my achievement days, we played broom hockey. i got kicked out for wearing roller skates.

can i touch you? no? can i step on your shoes?

From Tara on Wed, Jan 15, 2014 at 14:39:18 from 75.169.143.115

Rob is right, we are playing with PVC pipe. I had grand plans of hurting others tonight, but it looks like it's going to be more of a robotic type of soccer/foosball/futsal...

I've been prepping all day by watching clips on how to bring my game tonight. This one was particularly helpful.

Allie, pay attention to 1:50.

Scott- I hope you're that animated when you coach. All I know is that I never want to play ANYTHING against your daughter. She's freaky good and freaky scary on the field. Sorry I backed out today, my pits weren't quite ready for the subjects.

Side to Side, not back and forth! (on the foosball)

From Scott Wesemann on Thu, Jan 16, 2014 at 12:18:35 from 66.232.64.4

Ya learn something new every day. I had no idea that even existed. My kids think I am too animated, so I have to tone it down. :)
