Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

First night of real sleep in a week. I've been averaging 4-5 a night from jet lag I suppose. It also doesn't help that I have been anxious about this race on Saturday.I just don't want to disapoint any of the other runners. I really, really wish it was ALL downhill. Those middle 2  hill miles are making me crazy, AHH! Anyway, I did a confidence boost workout today. Nothing special or fast by any means, but a reminder I can run at goal pace for Saturday.

1 mile warm up then a 5k. Spilts at 6:49 with 1% incline (1:30ish pace), 6:15  with 0 incline(PR hm pace), then eased back to a 6:45. I set up the split time deliberatly to make the last mile not feel too hard compared to the others. I felt fine, esecially knowing I will be going down hill. One thing that topped it off today was when I realized that I have not ran 13 miles since Hobble Creek, if my memory is correct. I don't even dare check. Oh boy. Bring on the down hill!

I signed up for Ogden Marathon lottery yesterday and the Just Cuz Half on November 3rd. Good to have something to look forward to.

PM: Two hours of tennis with the leauge. I won a set. I'm getting better!

I'm just glad I'm not shooting for a 1:30.

From Andrea on Thu, Oct 18, 2012 at 14:40:34 from 72.37.244.100

You are going to find the 1:30 pace very sustainable on Sat, I promise! Nice workout today.

I have complete confidence in you. Don't forget you'll have adrenaline on your side!

Best of luck on race day, its sounds like you are ready to kill this thing.

Thanks Andrea, Melody and Rachel- Its nice to hear those comments when in doubt. Thanks for the support!

Burt- Go to your which doctor. If he's really that, then you'll be running a 1:30 in no time!

I'm sure you'll do just fine with the pacing. Can't wait to read all about it.

By the way, tennis rules!!! I love it.

You'll do great pacing the half! I signed up for the lottery, too. :-)

you'll do great, tara. make sure to tell your groupies about your tennis adventures and your days of modeling for DI MAG.

course tool is coming...

Dale- I thought I liked tennis until I join the league. Now I'm I'm a joke, but I have some fun doing it. Last night when a speeding ball came towards me, I freaked out and kicked it rather than hit with my racket. its true, I'm a better ninja without training, than a tennis player with years of private lessons as a child.

Hi Brooke! You're getting better! You'll be on fire by Ogden. Hope you get in!

Allie- Thanks again for the splits. Speaking of DI MAG, They called and want their wardrobe back. Suckers! Ten dollars worth of a closet full of clothes, ALLLL mine!

Good Job Tara! I agree signing up for races is the only thing that keeps me going these days. After the Halloween Half I have no races in sight...looks like my winter is going to be a unmotivational BLAH!
